The basic system of the LND series LIDAR includes one LND lidar,  one power cable(Y1), one  Ethernet cable (Y2) and one PC with debugging software.  

The main function of LND laser radar is a distance measurement. The laser radar is connected to the upper computer through an Ethernet cable, and data graphic display is carried out through the upper computer software.


Distance measurement
After the sensor is powered on and passes the system self-test, it will start to measure the distance value of each point within the range of 0 ° ~ 180 °, and output these values through the Ethernet interface. The default measurement data is 0-720 sets, corresponding to the distance value of 0 ° - 180 ° angle range, which is in hexadecimal format, and the unit is mm.

LiDAR is divided into two types according to the ranging principle: triangular ranging and time-of-flight ranging. The time-of-flight ranging is divided into direct time-of-flight ranging and indirect time-of-flight ranging. three

The principle of the angle method is to emit laser light through a laser. After the object is irradiated, the reflected light is received by the linear CCD. Since the laser and the detector are separated by a certain distance, objects at different distances will be imaged at different positions on the CCD according to the optical path. . According to the trigonometric formula to calculate, the distance of the measured object can be deduced. The principle of TOF is that the laser emits a laser pulse, and the timer records the emission time, the return light is received by the receiver, and the timer records the return time. The "flight time" of light is obtained by subtracting the two times, and the speed of light is constant, so the distance can be easily calculated after the speed and time are known.

Compared with the triangulation ranging method, TOF calculates the target distance by measuring the time-of-flight of the light pulse, and the timing accuracy will not change as the distance becomes longer, so that in the entire range, the distance resolution of TOF ranging is the same. There will be no substantive changes. At the same time, TOF ranging processes all high-speed pulse signals, and the benefit from this is that the entire measurement process takes a very short time and can easily achieve a very high measurement frequency.

Generally speaking, high precision and fast response speed are the main advantages of TOF laser radar. This feature is more in line with the obstacle avoidance requirements of AGV/AMR cars in industrial scenarios. Therefore, in the current industrial field, AGV/AMR obstacle avoidance laser radar generally uses TOF type-based.
